Becoming a Carer

Being a carer is so much more than just doing a job. It’s about bringing your talents and skills into someone’s home and making a real difference to their quality of life.

We offer a range of care services from 30 minute companionship visits and welfare checks, through to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week complex care.

Make a Difference – Join the SIL Family

If you join our Homecare Services team you might be asked to help with light housework duties, or you might be needed to help someone in and out of the shower and prepare them a light meal.

Within our Independent Living at Home team, while we do support people in their own homes, the role may also require supporting a service user in community activities and even going with them on their holidays!

You don’t need any formal training to join us at SIL – we will give you all the training you need to be a confident and capable carer. What you do need is a caring personality and a sense of humour.

What you will learn very quickly is that you already have the skills that can make a real difference to someone’s life. You may be the only person they see all week – the one thing that makes them smile.

Time to take that first step?
